James 'Jimmy' Woonton is a 27 year old Brazilian Jiu Jitsu athlete based in Brisbane, Australia.

Inspired by years of watching combat sports and playing video games, Jimmy started training jiu jitsu as a teenager in New Zealand. He quickly found himself immersed in the sport; watching grappling matches for hours on end and quitting several jobs in order to train more, sleeping on friends’ couches when the need arose. It wasn’t long until this began to pay off and Jimmy started showing signs of something special.

Now a seasoned competitor, Jimmy possesses a machine-like knowledge of jiu jitsu, and like pressing buttons on a console controller, understands the importance of timing, and the ways in which small incremental movements can build into something bigger and more powerful.
